The clean, well-crafted and aesthetically pleasing form of the Ono chair raised the question for us of the essence of a chair – of the correlation of form and function, geometry and human anatomy. The imprint the body leaves on the chair – the chair-body interface – makes this relationship visible. This imprint makes the chair into a one-off. It is being acquired, possessed, the “body data” is saved forever.
